About Hope

Welcome to Hope Church

We want you to hear one thing first: we’re glad you’re here. No matter where you’ve been, what you’ve been through, or how long it’s been since you’ve set foot in a church, we want you to breathe for a second and know you’re not alone.

Hope Church is a place for real people. Real people with questions, stories, people in process, and people who are still figuring things out. We’re not perfect and we don’t pretend to be. But we are a community learning to walk with Jesus together in grace, truth, and genuine love.

We want this page to feel like a handshake and a hug at the same time: a warm welcome and a clear picture of who we are.

Who We Are

Hope Church is a Spirit-filled Pentecostal church in Iron Mountain committed to helping people encounter Jesus in a way that restores, strengthens, and transforms their lives.

We love God. We love people. And we exist to unite the two — not by pressure, not by performance, but through compassion, truth, and the presence of God.

Our heartbeat is simple:

• We believe every person has God-given worth.

• We believe every story matters.

• We believe God still heals, restores, and leads people into freedom.

• We believe the Bible gives life, direction, and clarity in a confusing world.

• And we believe that Jesus is for you long before you ever imagined He was with you.

A Place to Belong, Grow, and Heal

We want church to feel like more than a service — it should feel like family.

Around here you’ll find:

  • People who will pray with you and walk with you.
  • Kids laughing, learning, and discovering Jesus in age-appropriate ways.
  • Teens finding identity and belonging in a safe, Spirit-filled environment.
  • Adults discovering purpose and renewing strength in every season of life.
  • Leaders who care about integrity, growth, and shepherding with humility.
  • A community that serves Iron Mountain with joy — from parks to schools to nursing homes to grocery outreaches.

We believe God meets people right where they are… and walks with them forward from there.

Our Heart For Truth

We live in a world filled with shifting values and endless opinions. In the middle of all that noise, we hold onto something solid: God’s Word. Everything we teach, practice, and build flows from Scripture — not from culture, politics, trends, or pressure.

We want to be a church that loves like Jesus, speaks truth with grace, and walks in holiness with humility. We’re not here to fight culture wars, we’re here to help people meet the God who heals hearts and changes lives.

Because we love people, we teach the Bible as it is — including the parts that call us to repentance, transformation, and a new way of life. Our beliefs are rooted in historic, Spirit-filled Christianity, and you can explore them in detail in the Doctrine section below.

This means:

  • We love every person deeply.
  • We treat every person with dignity and kindness.
  • We hold to the biblical convictions that have shaped the church since the book of Acts.

Love and conviction are not opposites — in Jesus, they always travel together.

Our Vision For You

When you walk through our doors, here’s what we want you to experience:

  • Hope you can feel.
  • Truth you can trust.
  • Grace that restores.
  • A church family that welcomes you as you are but loves you too much to let you stay stuck.
  • An encounter with Jesus that changes everything.

You don’t need perfection. You don’t need a religious résumé. You don’t need to clean yourself up first. Just come hungry. Come hurting. Come curious. Come searching.

We believe God meets people in all of those places.

Our Core Beliefs

  • About the Bible

The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (See II Timothy 3:15-17.)

  • About God

There is one God, who has revealed Himself as Father; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16.)

  • About Sin and Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (See Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9.)

  • About the Gospel

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). (See I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)

  • About Christian Living

As Christians, we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (See Mark 12:28-31; II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10.)

  • About the Future

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (See I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15.)

The Power of Community

The people were so kind and welcoming, the building was clean and inviting and the presence of the Lord was so powerful and uplifting!
