Have you ever wanted to believe in God, but struggled to? Maybe you prayed and nothing seemed to happen. Maybe life has felt too heavy, and you wonder if God really cares. Or maybe you’re not sure if He’s real at all.

If that’s you, you’re not the only one. Even people in the Bible wrestled with doubt:

Abraham was told he would become the father of many nations, but still asked, “How can I know?” (Genesis 15:8).

Moses was called to lead his people out of slavery but argued with God, insisting he wasn’t good enough (Exodus 3:11).

Thomas followed Jesus for years, but after the crucifixion he said, “Unless I see, I won’t believe.” (John 20:25).

These aren’t people on the outside looking in. They were people who knew God, who still had questions, and who struggled to believe.

Here’s the encouraging truth: struggling doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human. And if there is a God, He isn’t surprised or offended by your questions. In fact, Jesus met Thomas in his doubt. He didn’t push him away. He invited him closer.

So what do you do when believing feels hard?

Be honest. Pretending doesn’t help. If God is real, He can handle your honesty. Start with a simple prayer: “If You’re there, show me.”

Stay curious. Doubt can close us off, but it can also be the doorway to discovery. Keep asking, keep seeking, and don’t settle for easy answers.

Look for faith in community. Sometimes you need others to carry hope for you. Spend time around people of faith and watch how they live.

Jesus once said that even faith the size of a mustard seed, tiny and almost invisible, is enough to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Maybe your step right now is not a giant belief, but a small, honest question.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. But don’t stop leaning in. Because the struggle itself may be where faith begins.

A 7-Day Guide for People Who Struggle to Believe

Day 1 – Be Honest About Your Struggle

“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” – Mark 9:24

Faith doesn’t always mean feeling strong. In this verse, a desperate father admitted both belief and doubt at the same time. Jesus didn’t reject him. He responded with compassion.

Encouragement: God isn’t waiting for you to clean up your questions before coming to Him. Honesty is the first step of faith.

Prayer: God, I want to believe, but I struggle. Meet me in my doubts and help me take one step closer to You.

Day 2 – Remember God Cares for You

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

Life can feel overwhelming, and sometimes we wonder if anyone truly cares. This verse reminds us that God does. He sees your worries, fears, and struggles.

Encouragement: You don’t have to carry the weight of life alone. If God cares, then nothing you bring to Him is too small or too heavy.

Prayer: God, I give You the things that worry me most today. If You care for me, show me that care in a way I can see.

Day 3 – Small Faith Still Matters

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

Jesus used the smallest seed people knew to explain faith. Even the tiniest step counts. It’s not about how big your belief is, but about the One you are trusting in.

Encouragement: Faith doesn’t have to be huge to matter. Even a whispered prayer or a moment of hope is faith at work.

Prayer: God, take the little faith I have today and use it to draw me closer to You.

Day 4 – God Is With You in the Waiting

“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” – Psalm 31:24

Waiting for answers can make faith feel impossible. The Bible shows us again and again that waiting is part of the journey.

Encouragement: Waiting doesn’t mean God has abandoned you. Sometimes waiting is where He does His deepest work in us.

Prayer: God, waiting is hard. Help me to hold on and trust that You are still at work, even when I can’t see it.

Day 5 – You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2

Faith was never meant to be lived in isolation. We need others to encourage us, pray with us, and remind us of hope when we forget.

Encouragement: You are not weak for needing help. That is how God designed us — to walk together.

Prayer: God, send people into my life who can encourage me. Give me courage to open up about my struggles.

Day 6 – God Invites You to Rest

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

Jesus invites the tired, the overwhelmed, and the doubters to come close. He doesn’t ask for perfection, just honesty.

Encouragement: Faith is not about having all the answers. It’s about finding rest in the presence of God.

Prayer: Jesus, I am tired. I bring You my struggles and doubts. Please give me peace today.

Day 7 – One Small Step Forward

“Come near to God and he will come near to you.” – James 4:8

Faith is a journey. Every step you take toward God is met by a step He takes toward you.

Encouragement: You don’t have to leap into belief. A small step of honesty, prayer, or curiosity is enough for today.

Prayer: God, I don’t have all the answers, but today I choose to take one step toward You. Meet me in that step.

Who is Jesus?

Maybe you grew up hearing about Jesus. Or maybe you only hear His name around Christmas or Easter.

Maybe your faith has shifted-or faded-and now you’re wrestling with new questions. Wherever you are, one thing’s still true:

Jesus is hard to ignore.

For over 2,000 years, His name has sparked curiosity, conversation, and controversy. So who was He-really? And why do so many people still believe He matters today?

Let’s take an honest look at the historical Jesus, what He said about Himself, and why those claims might be worth exploring-no matter where you’re coming from.

Jesus in History: Not Just a Sunday School Story

Whether you consider yourself a Christian or not, here’s what’s widely accepted: Jesus of Nazareth was a real person. He lived in the first century. He taught people, challenged systems, gathered followers, and was killed by Roman execution.

That’s not just something that Christians say – it’s widely recognized history. Even scholars who don’t believe in God agree on those basic facts.

So the real question isn’t if Jesus lived. It’s who He really was – and why His story still matters to billions today.

What Jesus Said About Himself

Jesus is often admired for His message – love, compassion, justice, and grace. And the truth is, He embodied all of it. But He also said things that went way beyond that:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life…” John 14:6
“Before Abraham was born, I AM.” John 8:58
“I am the resurrection and the life…” John 11:25
“I and the Father are one.” John 10:30

He forgave sins, spoke openly about His death, and promised He’d come back to life.

Those aren’t just helpful life lessons. They’re bold, personal claims – claims about His identity, His power, and His purpose.

C.S. Lewis said it this way:

“Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic, or He is Lord.”

If He was lying, why would the people closest to Him stick around – even when it meant suffering or death?

If He was delusional, how did His followers stay convinced – risking everything to keep telling His story?

Or… what if He was telling the truth?

Why It Might Matter More Than You Think

This isn’t about convincing you of something – it’s about inviting you to consider something big: If Jesus was telling the truth, then His death, and resurrection have everything to do with yours.

Jesus wasn’t interested in rules for the sake of rules. He came to bring life that’s full of meaning, freedom, and grace.

That offer? It hasn’t expired.

You don’t need perfect faith or polished answers. You just need a willingness to ask, “What if this is true?”

5 Prayers Every Parent Can Pray Over Their Kids

You can’t always be there, but God can.

Parenting is a mix of joy and worry. We celebrate our kids’ milestones, but we also lie awake at night wondering if they will make good choices, if they are safe, and if they will follow Jesus. The truth is, no matter how hard we try, there is so much we cannot control.

But prayer changes that. Prayer is where we release our children into the hands of the God who loves them even more than we do. Scripture reminds us, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). When you pray for your kids, you are not just wishing them well , you are inviting God to move powerfully in their lives.

Here are five prayers you can begin praying over your kids today:

1. Pray for Their Salvation

Every parent’s deepest hope is that their child will know Jesus personally. We can guide, teach, and model faith, but only God can open a child’s heart to believe.

Scripture: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Prayer Example:

“Lord, draw my child to You. Open their heart to understand the gospel and give them a desire to follow Jesus. Let their faith be real, lasting, and life-changing.”

2. Pray for Their Protection

We cannot be everywhere with our children, and that can leave us feeling helpless. But God’s presence goes where we cannot.

Scripture: “He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” (Psalm 91:11)

Prayer Example: “Father, place Your protection over my child. Guard their mind and heart from the enemy’s lies, and keep them safe physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”

3. Pray for Their Friendships

Friends can build up or tear down. Many parents fear the influence of the wrong crowd, and with good reason.

Scripture: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” (Proverbs 13:20)

Prayer Example: “God, surround my child with wise and godly friends. Remove unhealthy influences from their life and help them to also be a faithful, kind, and encouraging friend to others.

4. Pray for Their Purpose

We long for our kids to live lives of meaning, not just success. They were created for something bigger than themselves.

Scripture: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Prayer Example: “Lord, guide my child into Your calling for their life. Shape their gifts, passions, and choices so they live with courage and purpose that honors You.”

5. Pray for Their Character

We can provide opportunities and success, but only God can shape a child’s heart to look like Jesus.

Scripture: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22–23)

Prayer Example: “Father, grow Christlike character in my child. Help them to love well, live with integrity, and reflect Jesus in the way they speak, act, and treat others.”

You cannot control every choice your child makes, but you can cover them in prayer. Prayer invites God’s power, protection, and promises into their lives.
